The Decade Ahead ... Together

As we approach the tenth anniversary of our founding, I decided that we should invest in a new website designed to improve how we engage with and help men who do not have the opportunity to visit Dr. Geo at his Integrative Urology Clinic at NYU Langone. In other words, I decided to intentionally expand our reach throughout the United States and beyond. After all, the value that we provide applies to all men inflicted with a diagnosis of prostate cancer and who are now seeking to reclaim, rebuild and renew their lives and futures. I am one of them. Diagnosed in 2004, treated at UCSF by the great duo of Dr. Roach and Dr. Shinohara, and committed ever since to beating this disease. This...

Treating ED with TCM

There are many methods for treating erectile dysfunction and improving vitality in men with natural medicine. Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Exercise is all part of it. I had the privilege of co-editing what is likely the number one resource in treating sexual dysfunction with integrative modalities. The Integrative Sexual Health book is part of the Weil library of Integrative medicine books published by Oxford University Press. Today, I will focus on how Traditional Chinese Medicine works in treating erectile dysfunction. Some of the information below is excerpted from the Integrative Sexual Health book written by my colleague, Jillian Capodice. Traditional Chinese Medicine...

Announcing the 2018 CaPLESS Retreat

The wait is over. With love and enthusiasm, I'd like to announce the next CaPLESS retreat on April 27 - 29, 2018. You may not know the story, but ever since my dad's prostate cancer scare about twenty-six years ago, I have had a vendetta against this disease. My uncles died of prostate cancer. My paternal grandfather did too. In my dad's mind, he was next. Since then I have had a vendetta against prostate cancer. Now more than ever, after having seen thousands of prostate cancer patients, I firmly believe this disease is the perfect wake-up call that helps patients practice habits that can create a hostile environment to cancer and live his best life forward. I am not...

Celebrating Our 8th Anniversary

Eight years ago my dream became a reality. Recommending quality supplements to patients was a tough task as the market was (and still is) riddled with poor manufacturing practices and subpar ingredients. Low and behold my business partner David had just relocated to beautiful Madison, Wisconsin after a successful entrepreneurial career in Northern California. We spoke. And within a short period decided to create XY Wellness. That decision was easy. You see, David, as you may know, endured prostate cancer at the tender age of forty-four. He committed to conventional and natural therapies to assure he'd lived to see his two young daughters grow up - one of them is now a freshmen at...

Herbal Viagra: The Unfolding Lamar Odom Tragedy

Basketball is my favorite sport. I like all levels of basketball: college, professional, Olympic, even high school. Here in New York City, high school basketball is big, and as a result, we praise any high school kid who is really good at the sport and follow their career. One such player is Lamar Odom, who was a high school phenomenon at Christ the King high school in Queens, New York during the late ‘90s. He went on to have respectable a 10-year career on the NBA, although he may be better known to the masses as Khloe Kardashian’s ex-husband. Three days ago, he was found unconscious with white material oozing out of his mouth at a brothel near Las Vegas, Nevada. Today, October 15,...

My Glyphosate Article Attacked by Local Monsanto Seed Dealer and My Response

This past week I experienced a first. One of my monthly nutrition articles in our local paper, the Ozaukee News Graphic, was attacked in a letter to the editor. The headline reads, “Rosen column based on faulty science.” Once I read the letter I of course had to see who this guy was, and sure enough he was a local seed distributor of Monsanto products. The irony is that the article is limited by space so I could only get so much in. My rebuttal to his attack will allow me to publish additional points. Hopefully the news paper will publish it, but if not, it is here on the web! This might be a bit long, but is well worth your time to read. Here’s his letter followed by my response...

Now’s the Time to Take Advantage of Fresh Vegetables and Their Nutritional Benefits – Part 1

I don’t know about you, but this is my favorite time of the year. Not only is the weather beautiful and the days long, but it means our fresh local vegetables are here! They are at the road side stands, the Farmer’s Markets, and the CSAs begin delivering. For those of you unfamiliar with the term CSA it means Consumer Supported Agriculture. You (the consumer) buy direct from local farmers who offer these programs. There are many CSAs in our area with deliveries likely into your neighborhood and I encourage you to find one. It is not only good for you, but supports your local farmer as well. The CSA I belong to had its first delivery of the year including basil, lettuce, spinach,...
